Things to do With Your Loved One in Maui

Dreaming of a romantic getaway complete with white sand, gentle ocean breezes, and romantic strolls along the beach with a picture-perfect sunset? Then you’re already planning a romantic escape to Maui! We’ll even help you by adding a few romantic activities in Maui to your itinerary.

DAY 1

With the time change, we imagine you and your loved one might rise and shine a bit early on your first day here so make the most of it and go watch the sunrise over the ocean! With access to our secluded white sand beach, this will make the perfect introduction to your week in paradise.

After the sun is up, head back to your condo and make great use of that fully-equipped kitchen and make a healthy homemade breakfast. We’d have to recommend a fresh cup of Kauai coffee, but that’s just us!

Next, you’re back off to the beach. Either choose from our private beach or visit one of the nearby beaches for a change of scenery. Nothing will get you more acquainted with the island lifestyle than a relaxing day under the Hawaiian sun and lounging on the beach with your loved one.

Wash off the sand and sunscreen and get ready for a romantic dinner at Fleetwood’s on Front St. The views are superb and the cuisine is award-winning. Enjoy classic upscale dishes as well as Hawaiian-inspired items.

DAY 2

After breakfast, the two of you will be heading off to the ocean to catch sight of one of our favorite visitors: The whales. A whale watching tour is a fun experience where you’ll get as close to the Humpback whales as possible. The whales migrate to Hawaii’s warm waters to have their young and find a mate, so you can relax and enjoy these sightings with your mate.

If you two enjoy a nice brew, take a scenic drive along the coast to the Maui Brewing Company for a brewery tour. Tours are only $5 and include a flight of their flagship beers. If the tasting wasn’t enough, you can head over to their tasting room to learn more about the beers, brewing style, or just to enjoy a good Hawaiian beer.

Next on the agenda is another Maui tradition: A Slack Key Show. Try the dinner and a show combination package for a delicious dinner with the relaxing ambiance of slack key guitar music.

DAY 3

On this day, you’re wading into the water to get more acquainted with the other locals of Hawaii: Our aquatic life. A snorkeling adventure is fun for everyone and easier to do than scuba diving. Either rent your own equipment for multiple self-guided snorkel excursions during your stay or take a tour of Molokini or Turtle town for an educational approach to snorkeling.

After a morning in the water, it’s time to ditch your snorkel gear and put your dancing shoes on, so to speak. A private hula lesson can be a wonderful way to bond with your partner and attain a deeper level of appreciation for the Hawaiian culture.

For dinner, you’re going to Miso Phat Sushi for fresh and delicious sushi. You could buy yourself a MISO the Bomb roll and buy a MISO Pretty for your partner, or take a look at their other creatively named specialty rolls.

DAY 4

Today, you’re heading to our island’s treasure: Haleakala. Head into the park and take in the beauty of the area. Many tourists enjoy visiting the summit at sunrise for an unbeatable view but you’ll have to get there early to make the trek. If you’re looking for a more relaxed approach to Haleakala, try a horseback riding tour where you can visit the crater prior to your ride and then enjoy an hour and a half ride on Haleakala Ranch. At 4,000 feet in elevation, you’ll have views of Maui that you’ll never forget. Tours leave at either 11:30 a.m. or 2 p.m.

Please note that it’s about an hour and 45-minute drive to Haleakala National Park from Kahana Sunset.

Round out the evening with a romantic walk along the beach at sunset before heading off to try a Hawaiian favorite: Shave ice! We recommend Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice with delicious flavors such as leche, liliko`I, red raspberry, blue Hawaii, pineapple, piña colada, and more!

DAY 5

Start your day off with a filling breakfast from the popular Gazebo Restaurant where the macadamia nut pancakes are legendary.

You and your partner are hitting the pavement with a bike tour of the island. There are a variety of self-guided tours and trails to take advantage of on Maui, as well as styles of bikes ranging from cruiser to mountain bikes. For a relaxed approach, try an electric bicycle to see the major sights of Lahaina.

That evening, prepare for one of the most popular activities on the island: A luau! Enjoy delicious cocktails, traditional dishes, hula dancing, and more. This will definitely be a night you both will remember.

Easy Beach Access & Family Friendly

It is a peaceful, non-resorty sort of place. There is a lovely beach as part of the complex, and other notable beaches, with stellar snorkeling, only a couple of minutes drive down the road. The grounds are well kept up, and there is a nice pool to dip into.
