Activities in Maui
Hawaii’s vast expanses of impressive mountains and forests make it a perfect setting for a Lahaina zip line—in fact, Maui was the location of the United States’ first zip line tour, Skyline Eco-Adventures, which is still operating today. The two other major zip line companies in Maui are Kapalua Adventures, which has a state of the art parallel zip line system that allows friends and family to ride side by side, and Piiholo Ranch Zipline, which has more than 3 miles of the line—Maui’s longest.
These Maui activities and tours last from 2 to 3 hours and, depending on the site, feature additional attractions like a giant swinging rope and suspended rope bridge. Since each adventure company has more than one line, tours with educational information about the surrounding environment are also part of the trip, providing plenty of opportunities for photos and questions for the guides.
Local zip lining businesses and Kahana condo rentals would like to let visitors concerned about the environment know: zip lining is an eco-friendly activity. A portion of Kapalua Adventures’ profits are donated to the Pu‘u Kukui Watershed Management program and access to their more remote areas is done on pre-existing pineapple field access roads. These companies are also always careful to stress safety precautions.
