How to Celebrate at the Lahaina Halloween Party

Without a doubt, Halloween is the most celebrated holiday on Maui. And one of the biggest ways in which it is celebrated is with the Lahaina Halloween Party. Each year, Lahaina Town hosts the Halloween party that is so big that it has earned the nick name, “Mardi Gras of the Pacific.” Mark your calendar for this yearly event and use our guide below on how to celebrate at the Lahaina Halloween Party!

Where is the party?

Celebrations are held at Banyan Tree Park, Campbell Park, and on Front Street., which closes off all street traffic starting at 3 PM, allowing for participants to walk the streets freely during the event.

Family-friendly activities

The day kicks off with various family-friendly events including the Keiki costume parade along Front Street and the Family Fun Zone at Campbell Park. The Keiki costume parade usually starts at 4:30.

Costume contest and after dark party

While the main costume contest and festivities are found at Banyan Park, the party spans for almost a mile down Front Street, where the street is closed off to vehicular traffic. At night the more boisterous party begins with shoulder to shoulder festive goers, live music, hopping bars, and good energy!

Mardi Gras of the Pacific

Inspired by Mardi Gras, residents and visitors throw beads from the lanais just above the shops on Front Street. Plus, with the jammed packed streets of 30,000+ costumed attendees it can feel a bit like Bourbon Street.

Restaurants and bars on Front Street

The party doesn’t stop on Front Street, there are several restaurants and bars offering their own celebration in conjunction with the party! Fleetwood’s on Front Street is always a popular choice and is always happening. For those late-night goers, you can purchase a ticket for entrance into their rooftop VIP party.

Another popular spot to add to the fun is Down the Hatch. Join them for their DTH Halloween – A Place to Find Your Boo event. With live music, karaoke, and their 36th annual Ghoulish Gala Costume Karaoke contest, it is sure to be a good time.

Transportation

The one drawback to the Lahaina Halloween Party, traffic is a bit of a nightmare. So to avoid having to drive anywhere to get to the festivities and cruise in comfort aboard the beautiful Pride of Maui. Avoid the traffic and cruise down the coast sipping on our favorite cocktail while watching the sunset as you head to the big party.
