46th Annual Maui Marathon

Maui's longest-running marathon begins in Kahului and passes through Lahaina on the way to a finish in Kaanapali--more than halfway around all of West Maui! The challenge of this 26.2 mile race is matched by the beautiful scenery its participants can enjoy while traveling along the coast. A half-marathon, 5k, 10k and other running challenges will also be held in conjunction with this event!

Paddle for Life - Voyage to Lanai

2016 Xterra World Championship

October 23, 2016
Maui, Hawaii

Come cheer on these extreme competitors who will battle in the last of a grueling series of almost 100 off-road triathlon races that are held in 16 countries and over 30 states. Both amateur and pro athletes will compete—the pros go for a world championship title and a purse of $105,000, while the amateurs can be the next XTERRA World Champion. This race consists of a 1.5 kilometer swim, 32 kilometer mountain mile and a 10.5 kilometer on-trail run that will guide these athletes through forests and fields of pineapples. The race is capped at 800 competitors so only the best of the best will be competing.

8th Annual Hana Limu Festival

"Limu" means Hawaiian seaweed, an important ingredient to the island's culture and ecology that is celebrated each year at the Hana Limu Festival! Children's activities, food, live music a silent auction and plenty of limu complete the occasion! This will be taking place from 10am to 4pm at Hana Bay, on the other side of Maui.

Made in Maui County Festival

Sample hundreds of vendors based exclusively in Maui at the Made in Maui County Festival, which will feature everything from food to art, fashion, gifts and more! Cooking demonstrations, prize drawings and a fashion show will also be taking place. The first 2,000 attendees receive a complimentary tote bag.

Sun Yat-Sen Festival

This Festival honors the memory of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the “Father of Modern China”, with a lei ceremony, martial arts demonstrations and displays about his life. It all takes place at the Wo Hing Museum with a lecture in the Cookhouse Theater—admission is free.

Maui Jim Maui Invitational

Catch the final rounds of the nation's top early-season basketball tournament at the Lahaina Civic Center. Inspiration for the tournament first occurred when a Hawaiian team beat one from Virginia, the nation’s best-ranked team in 1982. The Invitational was founded two years later. Since then, the number of competing teams has risen from four to twelve, promising an even better-matched championship game to finish!

Pint Night for the Birds
